Following the release of Tim Burton's live-action Alice in Wonderland in 2010 I've been fortunate to see a variety of original costumes and props from the Disney movie in person, but never so many in one place and so openly on display as at the Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives exhibit.
Actual costumes and props featured in Alice in WonderlandWhether it be at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, the D23 Expo in Anaheim or at the new exhibition at The Reagan Library & Museum in Simi Valley on July 17, 2012, the Disney outfits and props are always presented impeccably. On this occasion they've even tried to recreate the Mad Hatter's tea party to make Colleen Atwood's Oscar-winning costumes even more memorable.

Johnny Depp's Mad Hatter costume from Alice in WonderlandMeanwhile here's another of the eccentric 'Mad Hatter' costumes that Johnny Depp wears in this big screen re-imagining of Lewis Carroll's literary classic, standing beside his chair from his tea party. It's been a favourite costume choice at West Hollywood's Halloween Carnaval festivities in recent years.

Costumes worn by Keira Knightley and Aaron Taylor-Johnson in Anna Karenina...
I've already had the pleasure of seeing some other original costumes from Joe Wright and Tom Stoppard's 2012 big screen adaptation of Tolstoy's literary classic Anna Karenina, so I was even more delighted to spy two more outfits from the movie on display at ArcLight Sherman Oaks cinema on November 25, 2012.

Gulliver's Travels

Something big is certainly going down: the general publics knowledge of the film they are seeing.
AKA: Golliver's Trip, Golivia's Travels, Big Jack Black, Gullipa.
Clientele: Generally groups of pre-pubescent boys waiting to spill their frozo on the seats and 'nice' families who thought they were in for a 'nice' olde time fable.
Main Players: Jack Black, Billy Connolly.
Worth Seeing?: Probably not unless you think the word 'titsvaginas' is funny.
The King's Speech

AKA The Kings Talk, The King and I, Speech of George, The King's Business, The President's Speech.
Clientele 92% of patrons are over 60 and arrive at least 45 minutes before the trailers start, then complain there is no seating while they wait. Most sessions have a parking bay for 'walkers' up the back. A large percentage complain about the price 'these days' but may treat themselves to a 'pop top' ice cream if walking from the car has made them hot.
Main Players Colin Firth, Geoffrey Rush, Helena Bonham Carter.
Worth seeing? Definitely, but a late night session is best to avoid any dementia ridden nannas recalling history the whole way through.
